MICHAEL CHARLES
QHSE Director
Michael brings over three decades of multidisciplinary expertise in geology, environmental science, and chemistry, with a career spanning both public and private sectors. He began his professional journey in 1987 in the petroleum industry, working offshore in the Norwegian sector. His early experience laid a strong foundation in field operations.
In the 1990s, Michael transitioned to the public sector, where he managed a laboratory serving Oslo’s drinking water and sewage systems. Under his leadership, the facility achieved ISO 17025 accreditation, reflecting his commitment to quality and regulatory excellence.
Michael returned to the petroleum industry in 1997, taking on roles across several companies with a focus on QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) and natural environmental management. His work has emphasized chemical safety, carbon accounting, and sustainability certifications, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification.
He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Earth Sciences from Oxford Brookes University and a Master’s degree in Biogeochemistry from Newcastle University, UK.
